WHAT’S UP WITH U.S. POLITICIANS?

November 21st 2008 00:30

I don’t have much love for politicians, wherever in the world they are from, and I would gladly leave them to their elements except whatever the U.S. politicians decide to do now have worldwide economic ramifications – so I cannot just let them be.

At least, I am going to get them to have my two (2) cents worth (or whatever it is worth). And of course, I have no grand illusion that they will even get to read it – much less heed. Okay, so I’ll just vent it.

Something is terribly wrong with those guys up in Washington.

Here’s why I am saying it:

Osama Bin Laden’s group, or whoever cooked up the 9/11 U.S. World Trade Center attacks must have thought that the only way they can hurt their greatest enemy is by hurting its economy – and somehow they succeeded. The stock market plunge and the economy suffered. Airlines go bankrupt and air travel is no longer the same…

But none of what those terrorists did would compare to what the “bright boys” of the capitalist world did to the U.S.’s and to the world’s economy.

The attackers of the WTC ravaged the buildings that symbolized the U.S. economic powers. And the attack had its effects.

Well, for a while.

What the “bright boys” have done had their immediate effects – and they are monstrous – yet they were only the beginning. What they have started has breathed a life into a super catastrophe that feeds on itself… and still is a work in progress.

And the beauty of it all is that the U.S. Government and all its law enforcers do not seem to think injustice have somehow been committed.

Look at how fast their politicians have acted to save the asses of those who caused the whole world this economic pain. $700-B of bailout package! Sure, they are now beginning to see that maybe their main reason for “awarding” the $700-B to the guys who created all these mess is defective, but…

Come on, we are all now in this stage where everybody’s finances has been wrecked by those guys who are so generously being rewarded by the U.S. government… why choose to punish the guys whose only main fault is being myopic?

So, the Big Three (GM, CHRYSLER and Ford) failed to see the future and acted so slowly in going with the times. They continued to build gas guzzlers instead of electric cars and so on… And because of that the U.S. politicians will allow their own constituents to lose more jobs and the world economy to fall even further.

Is that because the Big Three has done a bigger crime than what those “bright boys” have done?

Or are the real economic terrorists the U.S. Politicians?

Where have you been? They suck, that's what's up with U.S. politicians.

Just be grateful you're not living in the same country with the bastards, like I am. Then your retirement, social security, and most of your paycheck would be in dire jeopardy.

Thank goodness for Ralph Nader.

Hi Mr Newbie,

The fact is that if the big 3 us auto makers failed a few million jobs would also go in the companies that supplied them, which is why it is important at a time of rising unemployment and by the way did you predict 147$ oil, one of there major problems.

As for the tarp bailout, can you run an economy with all your banks bankrupt all because too many mortgagees lied on their application forms.

To turn to the politicians, they haven't offered them a deal yet until it is satisfactory to the tax payer they represent, so why be so quick to condemn them?

Most politicians are decent people with big ego's but in it for the right reason, just not here in the phil where money and status are so much more important.

i see the PSE hit the 1700's today. Very soon it'll be low enough to invest in again with the chance of a good return. i suggest you wait a couple more weeks.

regards

Hello Ms. D.

I can't say I disagree with you.

Hi British Bulldog,

Either you missed my point or you like your American cousins a lot. My benchmark here is actually how the British and the Rudd govts reacted to the problems caused by those bright boys. My impression is, the U.S. politicians are too nice to the guys who created the problems that are causing the world financial agony... and (compared to how they cuddled the financial guys) too harsh to the people who belong to the Big Three.

But then, we are all just expressing our opinions.

Hi Mr N,

You say everyone's being nice to them, but they've all lost their jobs like chuck prince the former boss of citibank and have been subpeoned to the congress to explain their actions in front of hostile congress lawyers and put on hate lists on the internet.

Did you not know that it was 'the left' democrats etc that encouraged them to lend more to the poor via securitisation slice and dice. I'Im no republican but instead an Obama fan but let's at least be fair when handing out the blame.

As it happen too the world would have got a recession now regardless as it does every six or seven years so it is only the depth and duration of it that we can lay at the doors of the fraudulent form fillers, whether house buyer, salesman, bank, rating agency or opportunistic left wing politician.

Regards

BB
