A FAST BUCK?
October 28th 2008 00:00
My old (young) pal (fobzy), the best of my buddies (I have only one) in cyber space, where I’ve been since time immemorial (meaning, just a few months ago) has asked for some tips on how to make a ‘fast buck’ given the ever present global economic condition.
Well, I am a newbie and while there are millions of questionable ways on how to make a quick buck out there, I think I am too much of a greenhorn to know which one is the best to recommend to one true friend.
In my previous posts I have, on several occasions, mentioned that I was buying stocks despite the apparent direction of the world markets.
To avoid giving the wrong impression, let me describe how I see the current trend of the markets. This newbie sees the world market as a ship about the size of an anchor, and the anchor of that ship about the size of the Titanic. Now, the ship (which is the size of an anchor) has thrown anchor (the size of a Titanic) in an abyss deeper than the Marianas Trench.
I hope that is clear enough…
Yet, this newbie is buying! And why is that so? Well, first: I don’t have the resources of the great Fobzy (who's family supposedly owns a farm and whatever else they own) and therefore, it will not cost this newbie the world if he lose them, 2nd: Nobody knows how deep is the abyss and, despite the pervading fear, we might just be only inches away from the bottom of it, 3rd: this newbie buys in trickles (not in hordes) and 4th: He knows no ‘get-rich-quick’ scheme.
So, either way, if this economic disaster lasts a while(as in years) longer, it will be the same wait for the newbie. And given the resources of the other buyers, he might not be able to buy his stocks at such attractive prices as they are now should he decide to wait until everyone else is also buying.
But then, what does a newbie know, eh?
In order therefore to compensate everyone who has gone this far reading this post, allow me to lead you to a link that might just be worth your while here: Really Long Link
Let me warn you, that it is not about making a fast buck either.
But, you would probably have made a nice sum last night if: 1. you are agile, 2. you are invested in Europe (Germany in particular), 3. you have chosen well and, 4. you caught the Volkswagen spike. Read here please

Maybe I should be the good pal that you consider me to be and point you to some treasure hunters that abound in these parts. They always have this treasure map at a ready and some budget requirements that runs in the millions.
Just sign the check and they will hasten to tell you that the map actually corresponds to some spot in your farm where they are almost certain the treasures are located. As soon as the check has been drawn against your account, they will start digging for the treasure...
Of course, they always come up with some new leads for the real location of the treasure chest so you can write new checks and... well, THEY get rich quick!
